(Beijing, January 25) Canada outlived Australia 55-49 in the stirring men's final of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Wheelchair Basketball International Invitational Tournament this evening at the National Indoor Stadium.

Athens Olympics and World Championships titlists Australia had won the qualification meeting against Canada 57-46 before the two teams headed into the final.

In the first half, the Canadians kept ahead but the lead was never bigger than four points.

In the second half, Canada took advantage of the low field goal percentage of the Australians to extend the gap to 40-32 and secure the gold medal.

Forward David Durepos hit 6 of 12 from the field for a game-high of 17 points for Canada and Joey Johnson contributed 10 rebounds in the win.
