(Beijing, January 25) Regardless of their 58-46 defeat to the Netherlands this evening in the men's third placer-decider of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Wheelchair Basketball International Invitational Tournament at the National Indoor Stadium, China's head coach Xu Yuansheng said he was satisfied with the players and looking forward to a better performance by his team in the Paralympic Games this summer.

Host China had suffered four straight losses before the bronze-decider and had conceded to the Netherlands by big margin, 59-29, in the group heats.

Today, the Chinese denied the strength gap to follow the Netherlands closely, trailing 25-23 at halftime.

However the Dutch relied on press defense to set the pace for a 38-34 advantage after three quarters. Later, turnovers buried China in the last period and the Netherlands took the bronze medal with a 58-46 victory.

Despite the loss, China's Huang Xunan poured in 7 of 9 from the field for 15 points and Guo Yandong reached a game-high of 0.8 field-goal percentage. By contraries the Dutch head coach Van der Gert Jan Linden was het-up about the FGPs of the Netherlands.

"We competed with China and also with ourselves. We missed 20 out of 24 shots in the first quarter." He commented.

Xu Yuansheng, head coach of China, said his team had benefited a lot from the five games. "I believe we could achieve better results in the Beijing Paralymic Games via intensified training and good preparation."
