(Beijing, January 25) In the women's final of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Wheelchair Basketball International Invitational Tournament held at the National Indoor Stadium this afternoon, Canada's Hai Poon hit one of two free throws with one second left to help her team win the title.

Athens Paralympic champions Canada had lost to Germany in OT in the preliminary rounds, but today they didn't give their counterparts the opportunity to head into overtime.

Canada led 16-11 after the first quarter and Germany didn't want to give up early, setting a 8-3 run to tie the score at 19 all before they kept ahead 31-24 into the locker room.

Canada managed to cut the deficit to 33-31 five minutes into the third quarter and Germany continued to set the pace 39-38 before the last period.

The score was tied again at 45-45 in the fourth quarter and 50 all with one minute remaining. It was Canada's Hai Poon who was fouled with one second left to end the match and hit one of two free throws to grab the win 51-50.
