Beijing, January 24 - Comments from players Misty Thomas (CAN), Cindy Ouellet and Kendra Ohama (CAN) after Canada beat Japan 58-38 in the semifinal.

Misty Thomas (CAN) - Forward

On today's performance:

"Actually I don't think we played well when facing Japan several days ago. But today, we played at our expected level."

On improvements to be made in the future:

"Everything, I think. I've just been in the national team for 3 years as opposed to some who have been there for close to 20 years. I need to improve in every aspect."

On tomorrow's expectations:

"Germany is a good team. It's really useful to play against some of the best teams in the world here and I think we will persevere in our style of play. The Japanese team depend on their speed while Germany are more physical with their chairs. We will need to shift our mindset when competing against either team."

Cindy Ouellet (CAN) - Forward

On the adjustment:

"We had been beaten by Japan, so in this match we focused on the job at hand and on playing as a team. We also scored more and communicated better with each other when passing."

On the fast breaks:

"We got a lot of fast breaks in this match, which gave us sharp mental focus."

On her role in the team:

"I'm the youngest player in my beam. My duty is to control the ball, communicate with my teammates and lead the pick and roll."

On competing with GER:

"l'm really exciting to be playing against them. We have watched some videos of their games and adjusted our tactics accordingly."

On the high shooting rate:

"On the court, we just focus on the basket, while during training, we practice shooing under pressure and sinking more difficult shots."

Kendra Ohama (CAN) - Guard

On her Japanese blood:

"I am the third generation, as I grew up in Canada, so I can speak little Japanese. I went back to Japan in 2006 for a competition. We were reigning champions that time, so I was very happy. It feels special to go back to your roots."
