(Beijing, January 24) The semifinals of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Wheelchair Basketball International Invitational Tournament concluded at the National Indoor Stadium this evening as both Canada's men's and women's teams cruised into the final phase, facing Australian and Germany respectively.

On the women's side, 2004 Paralympic champions Canada found their form quickly in the semi against their Asian counterparts Japan and erupted for an 11-2 run in the second quarter to secure the victory 58-38.

Germany claimed an easy win of 76-38 over host China in the other semifinal.

On the men's side, Canada came from a halftime deadlock to beat the Netherlands 68-51 while 2004 Paralympic runners-up Australia eased into the final after a commanding 52-24 triumph over China.

The women's final and third-decider will be held tomorrow afternoon and the men's clashes are slated for tomorrow evening.
