(Beijing, January 24) In a women's semifinal of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Wheelchair Basketball International Invitational Tournament this evening, 2004 Paralympic champions Canada beat their Asian counterparts Japan 58-38 to make the final scheduled for tomorrow.

Canada didn't bring out their best in the group matches for they had lost to Germany in OT and conceded to Japan for a third finisher after preliminary rounds.

But the Canadians found their form quickly in the semi as they broke the 12 all deadlock after the first quarter to erupt for a 11-2 run and led 29-21 into the locker room.

The Japanese managed to cut the deficit to 33-25 before Canada took over the game again leading 41-27 into the final period and wrapped up the victory 58-38.

Canada and Germany will face off in the final and the bronze decider is slated between Japan and China.
