(Beijing, January 22) - Comments from coaches and players of both teams after Canada beat China 69-47 in the men's preliminary round.

Adom Lancia (CAN) - Centre

On the players' arrangement:

"Our team possesses talent in depth at all positions, so all must pay to make their own contributions to the team. Some starting players may not have been major players, yet they all played superbly"

On CHN's fouls:

"China committed many fouls today due to lacking experience as opposed to our players. After all, they are still a young team. I was happy to face them and see their progress over the bet two years."

On the most impressive Chinese player:

"It's hard to say because several of them did good jobs, llke Chen Guojun (No. 4) and Li Pengcheng (No.13) who was sent off in the second quarter but pushed us hard."

On the impression of the NIS:

"The facilities are comfortable and the audience was pumped up."

Davld Eng (CAN) - Centre

On his experience:

"l was introduced to the sport h 1989 by my wheelchair-basketball playing uncle In my left leg became injured. He let me sit in a wheelchair and then taught me how to play. I really love this game."

On the training:

"My habitual training regimen includes 90-minute weightlifting ssessions in the gym to build up strength five times a week. I play wheelchair basketball four times a week for two or three hours at a tlme to improve."

On Team China:

"It is the first time for my team to play China, but I found them to have a lot of potential. Over the next few years, they will grow to become a strong team. They were surprisingly good today."

On Beijing:

"This is the first time for me to come to Beijing and China. I really love Beijing as the people here are so friendly. The staff and volunteers in the venue do terrific jobs, too. I'm satified with everything here. My father hails from Hong Kong, so I'm half-Chinese. I feel at home here and will travel in Beijing after the tournament. "

Jerry Tonello (CAN) - Coach

On today's match:

"I believe that the gap between us is closing. The Chinese players are fast and enthusiastic, both vital qualities in wheelchair basketball. Though the Chinese directly qualified for the next Paralympics as the host country, there is no doubt China will qualify in its own right for 2012. In a couple of years, the Chinese team will be amomg the top 6 in the world."

On the wheelchair basketball:

"The only difference between wheelchair and able-bodied basketball is the additional tool - the chair itself. Just like other sports, the players must train hard and be in good shape."

Xu Yuansheng (CHN) - Coach

On today's match:

"We really tried our best during this game. Thanks to the Canadian team and to Mr. Tonello, we will treasure this chance for growth and improvement."

On wheelchair basketball:

"As many Chinese believe that wheelchair basketball is limited to the disabled, this fantastic sport is not very well-known. Many people who love the game are hindering themselves from enjoying it through their own limitations."
